Globally Connected

Globally Connected, Seaports, Airports, Railroads, and Highways

One of the reasons that make California a global powerhouse is the fact that California is globally connected. World-class infrastructure allows Californians the ability to connect with the rest of the world. California possesses over 15,000 miles of highways and freeways connecting the inhabitants of the vast state. In addition to its freeways and highways, California has 11 cargo airports and 11 seaports to transport a variety of goods. Because of its strategic location on the Pacific Ocean, California is the leading importer and exporter of goods to and from Asia and Oceania. California is a global export leader noting over $127 billion in export sales 2006. This extensive connectivity is undoubtedly one of the primary reasons why California possesses one of the leading economies in the world.
